Friction, Process, Repetition

This is a presentation of my recent music, written for the premiere of 'Molto Fluido' with Ensemble Intercontemporain in September 2007. Over the last five years my project has developed along three rather distinct lines. On the one hand I have worked recently with pieces that in different ways engages with the classical tradition. A second line of work I have pursued, is the combination of improvisation and traditional score. I have worked in close collaboration with improvising musicians, and also worked with people who are both highly skilled contemporary players and improvisors. And then there are my works for chamber groups, ensembles and orchestras which I think about of as pure, abstract music, in the sense that the don't contain any links to either earlier music or cross-over elements like improvisation.
